In A Dangerous Path, she was the mother of Snowkit, and she would not accept that Snowkit would never become a warrior because of his deafness. In vain, Speckletail attempted to mentor her kit, who would later be taken by a hawk. When Brightheart is sent to the elders' den because of the injuries given to her by the dog pack, she is given charge of Brightheart, and they develop a strong bond.
